Free continuing education opportunities for SNE-PTN practices

Continuing Education Opportunity for Clinicians Enrolled in SNE-PTN

SNE-PTN has partnered with the UMass Medical School Center for Integrated Primary Care (CIPC) to allow clinicians enrolled in TCPi to participate in online core courses free of charge. These courses are offered in three content areas: 1) Motivational Interviewing (MI); 2) Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH); and 3) Integrated Care Management (ICM). Certificate-level coursework is also offered for MI and PCBH.                                                                       

Courses Offered/Schedule

Courses are offered twice a year – Fall (Sep-Dec) and Spring (Jan-May).

All courses are self-paced and include routine assessments embedded within each video module. Some courses offer once per month live Q&A video session with CIPC faculty or other interactive programming.

You can obtain detailed information on CIPC, faculty, as well as specific course curriculum, requirements, scheduling, and registration at http://www.umassmed.edu/cipc/. Course completion must occur within one year from the date the course is initiated. However, to qualify for CME credits, all coursework must be completed by the end of the semester.

Registration

Step 1: To register for a course, click on its registration link in the table below.

Step 2: At the course site click the “Register Here” button.

Step 3: Create a user account using your email address; enter your contact information, set your password, and click “Next”.

Step 4: Under the tuition amount, click “Next”.

Step 5: Indicate whether or not you will be requesting CE credits and click “Next”.

Step 6: At the payment page, enter the code “SNE” in the Promo Code field; click “Apply”.

CEU/CME Credits

CEU/CMEs are available for a fee of $100/registrant per course (not per credit) completed within the designated semester. SNE-PTN participants interested in receiving CEU/CMEs will be required to pay the fee directly to CIPC. Participants will receive a certificate upon course completion; CEU/CMEs will be awarded within 5-6 weeks of course completion.

Introduction to Motivational Interviewing (MI): 

Description: Teaches critical skills for healthcare providers engaging patients to achieve goals for health behavior change.

Building Knowledge in Motivational Interviewing, 10 Lessons:

Description: An in-depth, academic introduction to MI, based on Miller & Rollnick's Motivational Interviewing, 3rd ed.

Integrated Care Management(ICM):

Description: Requires the completion of six core modules – Introduction to ICM in the PCMH, Patient-centered Care Plans, Medical Neighborhoods, Patient Activation, Motivational Interviewing, and Registries for High Risk Patients.

Designed for: Care Managers, Care Navigators wanting to fill in medical and/or psychological knowledge. 20-25 CEU/CME credits available. Click here for more information.
